native speciesとnon-native-speciesの違いを解説（Biology)
nativeには、
「出生地の」という意味もありますが、
「ずっとそこに住んでいる」→「土着の」という意味があります。
また、
speciesは、動植物分類上の「種」という意味で、
the human speciesは「人類」という”種”を指します。
また、ダーウィンの進化論が記された
1859年発表の著作は、
On the Origin of Species 種の起源です。
よって、native speciesとnon-native species
は、次のような意味になります。
native species 土着の種→「在来種」
non-native species 非土着の種→「外来種」
在来種 native speciesが、
海外から入ってきた外来種 non-native speciesによって
絶滅 extinctionに追い込まれ、
生態系 ecosystemが変わってしまう事例は、昨今よく話題にります。
