数字の書き方を解説／Techinical Wrinting上の数値表記ルール
技術系の仕様書や英文メールには、さまざまな数字が使われます。
数の表記方法に関して、
Technical Wrinting上の基本ルールがあり、
それらを知っておくとことは、非常に重要です。
実際の仕事では、
算用数字（1,2,3…）でもスペルアウト（one two three…）でも
こちらの言いたいことは伝わるので、問題はないのですが、
「十kg」と書いてあったら、不自然に感じるのと同じように、
やはり、ただしい慣習、ルールに従って覚えておくべきと考えています。
それでは、ひとつずつよく確認していきましょう。
数字の読み方に関してもルールがあるので、下記を参考にして下さい。
重要な数値表記ルール6選
1. 文頭の数字は、算用数字ではなくスペルアウトする
Ｘ 60 students joined this lecture.
◯ Sixty students joined this lecture.
2. 1～10の数値は、算用数字ではなくスペルアウトする
10は、算用数字でよいというガイドラインもあるため、
10だけは、状況次第。
Ｘ There are 6 people in this room.
◯ There are six people in this room.
◯ There are 600 people in this room.
3. 100万を超える数字には、million/billion/rillionを使う
Ｘ There are 1,230,000 patients in Japan.
Ｘ There are one million and two hundred thirty thousand patients in Japan.
◯ There are 1.23 million patients in Japan.
1.23 millionsとしない点に注意

4. %の前の数字は算用数字を使う
Ｘ Sixty % of people in Japan watched this game on TV.
◯ 60% of people in Japan watched this game on TV.
5. 単位の前の数字は算用数字を使う
Ｘ This earphone is only five g.
◯ This earphone is only 5 g.
6. 小数には算用数字を使う
Ｘ The thickness of this card is zero point five mm.
◯ The thickness of this card is 0.5 mm.
