expediteとaccelerate-意味の違いを解説
expediteは、
「～を素早く進める（そして処理したり早めたりする）=speed up」
という意味です。
出荷の日程や、工程の一部を目的語に取り、
expedite the delivery 出荷を早める
expedite this process 工程を素早く進める
のように使うことができます。
一方、accelerateは、
「～を加速する」「～を促進する」という意味で、
車のスピードや経済の成長を目的語に取り、
accelerate my car 車の速度を上げる
accelerate economic growth 経済成長を促進する
のように使います。
また、自動詞として、
「～が加速する／～が進展する」という意味で、
His car accelerated. 彼の車は加速した
5G technology accelerated. 5Gの技術が進歩した
のように使うこともできます。
実際の仕事では、accelerateだけでも、対応可能ですが、
前出の例のように、
仕事では、expediteを使った方が適当なケースも多かったりします。
