almostとnearlyの違いを解説
「ほとんど宿題を終えた」と言いたい時は、
I have almost finished my homework. ほとんど宿題を終えた
のように副詞のalmost（ほとんど）を使います。
また、「もう少しで～するところだった」と言いたい時も、
I almost fell into the river. もう少しで川に落ちるところだった
のようにalmostを使うことができます。
一方nearlyは、イギリス英語でよく使われる言葉で、
この2語は、ほとんど同義ですが、no/nothingと一緒に使えるのはalmostだけです。
例えば、
almost no oneと言えても、nearly no oneとは言えないということです。
