delegationとcontingentの違い
delegationとcontingentは、
どちらも「代表団、派遣団」という意味です。
では、違いは何でしょうか？
delegationは、
「明確な目的を持って派遣される、政治や組織の代表団」
を指し、この意味だけで使われます。
また、
delegationは、複数人の一団ですが、
delegateは、代表者一人を指し、
「（政治的会議などの）代表者、使節（個人）」
という意味で使うことができます。
一方、
contingentは、
「一般的な国や組織の代表団」を意味しており、
「軍の派遣団」という意味で使われたり、
「偶発的な」という意味の形容詞としても使われます。

delegation
n.（集合的に）（単数、複数どちらでも使われる）派遣（代表）団
