comply with～とconform to～-意味の違いを解説
「compliance=コンプライアンス」という言葉を少し前からよく聞くようになりました。
これは、「法令順守」という意味で、
企業が法律や規則を守って活動することを指します。
comply with～は、
「～（法律、規則）に従う」と言う意味で、
comply with the law 法律に従う
のように使います。
一方の、conform to～は、
comply with同様、
「1.～に合わせる、従う」という意味もありますが、
complyが、「従う」というニュアンスが強いのに対し、
conformは、「合わせる」というニュアンスが強い
という違いがあります。
そのため、
「2.～に適合する、～に準拠する」という意味でもよく使われ、
conform to in-company quality standard 社内品質基準に準拠する
のように使われます。
「従う、準拠する」という意味の単語は他にもいろいろあるので、
